This part of ventrilo setup is for those who want to setup a private ventrilo server/channel, assuming you know the basics...that consists in forwarding a port

Step (1)

Download and install the server client ( typical installshield ==>next,next,next,finish ). I suggest you keep the original path as it will be easier for the following steps.


Step (2)

Download and copy paste attached file in the directory C:\Program Files\VentSrv( or any other destination where advance users may have installed the server)

Step (3)

Forward port 3784 on your router , protocols tcp and udp respectively (It not a specific port which is required, however forward this one if you are a new user, it'll be easier as it matches my attached config, i shall explain further which lines to modify in the config if you decide to forward another port). Eventually turn off firewalls or any crap that'll possibly block access to these ports.

Final Step

Launch start/programs/VentSrv/ventrilo server and you're done

P.S : The ventrilo_srv.ini is my config and is optimize for a lag-free ventrilo server but you may edit the lines...For a custom server you may edit firstly lines :

Name=(your server name)
Port=(specific port that you have forwarded for ventrilo)
AdminPassword=(your password) admin password is the password for rcon ( cs hosters know what am talking about)
Password=(client access password)
[Intf] ( if ever your local addresss is not the typical 192.168.1.10 or 192.168.1.1) otherwise don't modify or YOU will not be able to join YOUR server. If you have a dns add it in the intf section
